Here are some more pictures of Cambridge and Gonville and Caius...

 The Tree Court
 Artsy Pic!!!
A group of friendly swans along the river Cam. We spent a while with them yesterday when we sat along the river to cool off by dipping out feet in the questionably hygienic water.

Look, I have friends!!!  From left to right- Sarah, Jenny and Lizzie

Gonville Court.  This is the only grass we are allowed to step on and only for special occasions!  We had our opening ceremonies here on Friday with Sherry on the lawn.

Today we went to Ely (a town not too far away from Cambridge, about a 10min. train ride) and viewed a Cathedral!  Here are some pics of that little excursion as well as our program's opening banquet!
 Ely Cathedral

This is the only remain part of a decorated ceiling that was destroyed during the Reformation

Here's a modern sculpture of an interpretation of Jesus and Mary Magdalene

This is a little staircase that leads to the organ

So, Ely has a "Lady Cathedral" attached on to the side of the main Cathedral. It's smaller and brighter and is lined with these beautiful etchings which depict the story of the Virgin Mary.  However, all the heads have been removed because, during the Reformation, all Saints were considered Idols and eliminated from Church practices.

On the left of this picture (above) is the Bishop's seat.  I learned that a Cathedral is only a Cathedral if it has the area's Bishop's seat actually in the Church, otherwise it's just considered an Abbey.

Outside of Ely Cathedral with Lady Chapel on the left

The Haines family goofing off at lunch
 Aubrey and darling Colette

The three of us have the same two classes all Summer, we're the only people in the program like this so we're kind of a big deal!
 The men of Cambridge
This was by far the best dessert EVER!!! A lemon mousse with lemon curd, raspberries, a shortbread cookie and garnished with fresh mint... YUM!!!
Ah, look away!  Avoid the temptation!!!
